Experience the Peer Gynt Trail, one of Norway’s classic cross-country ski routes, on a self-guided hotel-to-hotel ski tour near Lillehammer. The route takes you from the Espedalen valley via Fefor and Gålå to Skeikampen, through some of the best cross-country skiing terrain in Norway.
You will ski through varied mountain landscapes at around 700–1,500 metres above sea level, with spectacular views towards Jotunheimen, Rondane and Dovrefjell. The trail is regularly groomed for classic cross-country skiing and offers varied terrain with relatively manageable daily stages.
Hotel-to-Hotel Skiing with Luggage Transfer
The tour combines active days in the mountains with comfortable accommodation at hotels and mountain lodges. At several destinations, you stay for two nights, giving you the flexibility to choose between a longer ski day, a shorter outing or an extra excursion.

A Self-Guided Cross-Country Ski Tour
The Peer Gynt Trail is suitable for cross-country skiers with some previous experience. You should be comfortable skiing several hours a day and navigating independently using a map and route description.
The marked and regularly groomed trail, manageable daily stages and luggage transfer make this a comfortable way to experience Norwegian mountain skiing without a guide.

Please note that that second departure (13 - 20 Feb) follows a slightly different route than our standard Peer Gynt trail itinerary. This departure also includes Kvitfjell, a well-known ski resort and a regular host of the Alpine World Cup.
When planning your travels, please note that there is a set departure time from Skeikampen to Lillehammer on the last day. The earliest train departure from Lillehammer you can request is therefore at 10:15. It is possible to book the transfer at a different time at an additional cost.
